Posts from the Host – A Rustic Wedding
Rustic weddings have been very popular in recent years and look to be holding strong in 2014. We shot our first wedding of the year for “Ideas to I Do” this past weekend, which incorporated not only rustic, but vintage elements as well. This is something we’ve seen at weddings as well. Brides aren’t just selecting one theme or one style, they’re creating their own unique decor by incorporating different styles and elements that compliment each other and mean something special to them. This wedding incorporated a few DIY projects which brought together this rustic wedding infused with some vintage elements, including adorable keys for the place cards.
We interviewed three different vendors at this rustic wedding, including Toni Curlin and her team at Heathrow Country Club. Her team was amazing, organized, friendly and a pleasure to work with! The bride and groom got married off-site at a church, but held their cocktail hour as well as reception at the club. We will be editing the video about their wedding venue and be sharing it soon right here on ideastoido.com.
The couple chose Michelle Lewis and her team at Bluegrass Chic to create their floral arrangements and bouquets. I think the name of the company says it all in that Michelle was a perfect fit for this bride’s rustic style. She worked with the bride who incorporated pops of coral into her design, which was reflected in the arrangements Michelle and her team created.
The third vendor we are featuring from this wedding is Patty Ames, the owner of Cake Designers. Patty has more than 30 years of experience in the business and like Michelle, incorporated the pops of coral into the cake. Another major source of inspiration for Patty’s design came from the bride’s dress. The lace detail was mirrored in the tiers of the cake. It was just beautiful and I’m sure tasted just as delicious!
Here are some photos from our shoot. Videos coming soon!
