Posts from the Host – A Rustic, DIY Wedding
So far we have covered more than a dozen weddings, interviewed more than 70 wedding vendors, and edited more than 100 videos full of ideas for planning your wedding. That’s what we are all about, the IDEAS!
All our videos can now be found based on their theme, color, style, location and more. One of the most popular themes in recent year has been rustic weddings. What better time to take a look back at one we featured this fall than on Thanksgiving eve!
We had the chance to feature a rustic wedding for “Ideas to I Do” just this past fall. The ceremony was held in a church with the reception hosted at a nearby farmers market. What the venue lacked in size, it made up in charm! The farmers market is a former train depot that sits along the tracks and trains still come rumbling by!
The wedding we featured there played off the charming elements of the former depot. Because it is strictly a venue, couples that use the facility are free to use any vendors they want for catering, decor, etc. This couple kept it simple for their fall celebration, pulling off a rustic, DIY design. The neutral colors and simple design made this do it yourself project a success. As you will see in our interview with the day of coordinator for this wedding, the key to DIY weddings it keeping it simple, and that’s exactly what Kate and Charlie did. The wedding was simple and truly beautiful. Definitely one of my favorites we have featured so far!
I’ve included some photos I took during my time at their wedding as well as the videos that really show off the true beauty of this wedding coming to life! I thought right before Thanksgiving these photos and video would be the perfect inspiration for tomorrow’s celebration or tucking away a few ideas for next year.
